Rusted Mountain Ranch is one of the first ranches established here in Leona Valley, CA by an innovative badass named Everette. There are many tales about him from shooting squirrels for lunch or saving the neighbor’s house from an impending fire using his bulldozer. When Everette passed on, we took on the legacy of this land and have worked to make this a natural sanctuary space where animals and people alike can find rest, solace in the trees, and reconnection to the land and ultimately themselves. Our land is big sky, open air, and because we are the last ranch on the dirt road, we are surrounded by Angeles National Forest. The only sounds you hear are the hoot of an owl or the howl of a coyote.
For guests to enjoy, we have four tipis, one yurt, a round, wooden tiny home and a two-stalled compostable toilet situated on 12-acres. We are creating farm-to-table sustainable organic gardens. We are available to rent for photo shoots, movie and television locations, weddings, retreats, and events.
Kody and Jeanine are the owners of Rusted Mountain Ranch. Kody is a survival and primitive skills instructor and Jeanine is a yoga and meditation instructor. We live on Rusted Mountain with our three loving herding dogs and a snuggly cat. Kody’s brother Chad Keel is the founder of Nature Reconnection and is leading events and workshops on primitive skills on the ranch. He and his partner Angelica Montoya, who is a chef and leading food expert, are family, co-running and stewarding the land. We are happy to share our skills with you and your community.
